Do you know that Chamomile is derived from the Greek words chamos (ground) in reference to its low-growing characteristics and melos (apple), in reference to the apple scent of fresh chamomile blossoms?

Chamomile is one of the most ancient medicinal herbs known to mankind. References to chamomile are found in medicinal writings of the ancient Egyptian, Greek, and Romans. The Greeks and Egyptians used crushed chamomile flowers to treat the skin conditions erythema and xerosis caused by dry, harsh weather.

Chamomile is one of the most widely used herbs and has been traditionally used for its mild sedative, spasmolytic, anti-inflammatory, and wound healing properties. The dried flowers of chamomile contain many terpenoids and flavonoids contributing to its medicinal properties.
