My Story
Kia ora! I am Abi Zeng, the soul behind Happy Creation.
I design and handcraft polymer clay earrings from scratch, creating truly unique, one-of-a-kind pieces from my studio in Nelson, New Zealand.
Originally from Fuzhou, an ancient coastal city in southeastern China, I arrived in New Zealand in 2016 with just a one-way ticket. What was meant to be a short stay has turned into a heartfelt connection with this beautiful country and its people. After nearly a decade, I’ve found my tribe and truly made this place my home.
How It Started
Happy Creation was born by accident when my life hit rock bottom in early 2023.
I knew I had to pick myself up instead of having a pity party. I started exploring new experiences—boxing, dancing, and jewelry making. I discovered that diving into the deep end can lead to unexpected and beautiful transformations.
My truth? You are stronger than you ever imagined. When you pour your heart into what you love, everything else falls into place.
Today, these newfound passions enrich my life. I box twice a week, dance once a week, and handcraft my earrings whenever inspiration runs through me, pouring joy into every piece.

Embracing "Useless Things"
Raised in a culture that prioritises academic and economic success, I often felt guilty about indulging in activities deemed "useless" pleasures. Now, I celebrate these joys, like pastel painting, which help me connect deeply with myself and find fulfilment.
Through this journey, I’ve done significant inner work and now embrace a profound love and compassion for myself and those around me.
